Reporting Jobs
Reporting Jobs view
The Reporting Jobs view displays the reporting jobs that exist at the current scope level. You can use reporting jobs to define background jobs that run selected report(s) and send the output file(s) as email attachment(s) to specified recipients. For example, you can use a scheduled reporting job to run the yard inventory report for ABC line operator at the end of each day and email the output to the recipient(s) specified for the ABC line operator.
By default, N4 hides the Exec Yard column. If you decide to manually display this column (see Hiding and displaying columns), consider that the network resources utilized to hydrate and bring up the yard details in this column impact performance so that it may take longer for information to display.
You can add, edit, and delete reporting jobs from this view. For reporting jobs, you can only use reports that exist at the current scope level and do not have a required parameter defined in the report design (on page 1) or the report definition (on page 1). Before you add a reporting job ensure that the associated configuration settings are defined.
In addition, you can use the Actions menu to:
Schedule Job: Schedule a reporting job that exists at the current scope level. Once scheduled, the reporting job executes as a background job at the specified times.
If a reporting job is scheduled, a bullet displays in the Is Scheduled column.
Unschedule Job: Cancel a scheduled reporting job. The reporting job no longer runs as a background job. To run the job again, you can schedule it again or use the Execute Now (once) option.
Execute Now (once): Execute a specific reporting job on demand.
If you do not select a reporting job in the list view, the above options are disabled and cannot be selected.
To add a reporting job:
Click .
To edit a reporting job:
Select a reporting job in the list view and click .
If you select a scheduled reporting job, the job definition cannot be edited. Select if you want to edit the job definition or view only:
Yes: Cancels the reporting job schedule and opens the Reporting Job form (on page 1) so that you can edit the reporting job.
No: Leaves the reporting job as scheduled and opens the Reporting Job form in a view-only mode.
The entire Reporting Job form displays in the view-only mode except the Execution Logs tab (on page 1). You can view and delete execution logs on this tab.
To delete a reporting job:
Select a reporting job in the list view and click .
If the functionality is not available or you do not have the associated privileges, the ,
, or
buttons are grayed out.
